Confession: I have never been a big fan of New Year's Resolutions for the simple reason that if there are things I wish to change in my life, I see no need to wait until January 1st to do so. However, as I entered 2016, I did some reflection and evaluation of my daily life and the routines and habits that were creating my reality. After all, as this quote reminds us, our daily patterns hold great importance to the overall course of our lives
As part of my habit exploration, I read Better than Before from Gretchen Rubin. This is a very good read and will really get you thinking about your habits and how you can change course. One of the biggest takeaways for me was to determine my tendency. Gretchen outlines Four Tendencies that help to explain how we react to expectations (both inward and outward) and then outlines how those innate tendencies play a role in our habits.
